TESTING WEEK REMINDERS!

FRHS STUDENTS ATTENDED THE REACH HIGH SHASTA COLLEGE AND CAREER SIGNING DAY!
"At Reach Higher Shasta, we believe that all students deserve to be celebrated. College and Career Signing Day recognizes high school seniors who plan to pursue some form of education/training after graduation. Whether these students plan to attend a university, enroll in a certification program, attend a trade school, or enlist in the military, we celebrate their commitment to education and training after high school."
Seniors from the Class of 2025, along with FRHS Counselor Roxanna Fry, attended this Shasta County event, and four of our students were randomly selected to receive one of the thirty $500 scholarships! Thank you to the Reach Higher Shasta Program and all the scholarship sponsors for this opportunity to recognize our students!

IN THE CLASSROOM!
Mr. Keeper's Biology students participate in a shark dissection lab!
"From evolution to ecosystems, it’s all jaws and genius today. The Fall River Jr./Sr. High school lessons dive deep, building the foundation for tomorrow’s doctors, scientists, and innovators. An essential step for future pre-med legends."

"Big day for our Open Lab crew! Fall River Jr. Sr. High School students jumped into NASA’s #microbesAWG meeting to share progress on their Winogradsky column project—an array of mini‑ecosystems probing how microbes can power the next‑gen, bioregenerative life‑support systems astronauts will need on deep‑space missions. Proud to see our small‑town scientists helping shape humanity’s future among the stars! "
Thanks Mr. McGibboney!

This week, Fall River High School students Kayla Oilar, Kella Pasternak, and Allie Barrios, along with alumni Braylon Earnest, participated in the Tier-2 Floral Certification Exam held in Galt, California.
Having already passed the Question ID and General Knowledge exams last year, these students advanced to the hands-on Tier-2 practicum. This challenging assessment was proctored and scored by trained evaluators and required participants to complete three professional floral designs: a corsage, boutonniere, a “copy-cat” arrangement, and a hand-held spiral bouquet, all within a strict three-hour time limit.
To simulate a real-world florist environment, students were presented with client scenarios and design requests. Those who pass will earn not only an industry-recognized certification but also a prestigious California State Floral Endorsement.
Congratulations!

PHYSICAL SCIENCE AND CHEMISTRY CAPTURE PURE MAGIC IN THE FLAME TEST LAB!
Donning goggles and gloves, students introduced tiny samples of compounds—from lithium chloride’s cherry‑red glow to cupric nitrate’s electric teal—and recorded every vibrant hue they saw. By matching their observations to known flame colors, they got a front‑row seat to how electrons jump between energy levels and release light. Great job Mr. McGibboney! Inquiry‑based learning has never looked so bright!
